The Path to the Mosque

The path to the mosque is tough, takes longer

The hazards great, filled with hidden dangers.

On one side, the path ascends high, to the right

But another drops dangerously down, to the left.

The path to the right is steep and thin

One needs balance to remain therein

Keeping aground needs patience and time

Strength is required to follow this line.

The path to the left is open and wide

Movement is easy, a bicycle ride!

One can thoughtlessly follow it down

Whistling tunes, relaxing around.

Pray, bravely take the path to right

As when one finally reaches the mosque

It feels like a palace of paradise.

One feels like a hardened traveller

Having wondered over perilous places

Eternally searching and moving

Then finally finding friendly faces!

But the path to the left makes your mind wonder

The ease of it makes you linger

around the comfort, and you’re not bothered to seek

Perhaps visiting the mosque hardly once a week…

The path to the right may seem too hazardous to face,

But it’s the only road, where we will find His Grace.
